Now, SpotboyE has learnt that the film is based on the 1959 Nanavati case where naval officer Kavas Maneckshaw Nanavati was tried for the murder of his wife's lover, Prem Ahuja.
Akshay, we hear, will play Rustom, the man who is tried for the murder of his wife's lover. "The movie draws from the Nanavati case but it will be dramatised to a considerable extent," says a source.
The movie will be directed by Neeraj's assistant Tinu Desai. Besides producing it, Neeraj will also be penning the dialogue and co-writing the screenplay along with Vipul Rawal.
Interestingly, Soni Razdan's Love Affair, starring Gulshan Devaiah and Kalki Koechlin, is also based on the Nanavati murder.
